A Good Washer

Two Christmas Eves ago, our washer decided to just stop. It wouldn't work, it wouldn't spin, it wouldn't wash.

So, guess what I got for Christmas!? Yes, you guessed it! A new washer (and dryer... because they go together, right? Like peanut butter and jelly!)

Well, I have been catching up on some much needed laundry this week - since I've had a chance to finally get some done. When I first got the washer, it was exciting to do laundry. However, the newness has worn off, and it's back to it's... ugh! status.

However, this week... as I have washed - I have found a few surprises. It's a good thing this is a good washer (or this could be what happened to our other one!) :)

Here are a few things that I've found in our washer this week....

a squirrel
(no, not a real one... a little toy one that Whit likes to carry in his pockets)

mulch and sticks
(from my other two nature collectors)

rocks
(again, from my collectors)

a capped needle
(thank goodness it was capped... from my veterinarian husband)

And then, there's the shirt... the white shirt, for chapel day... that Whit was wearing when he somehow fell in the potty at school! One wash, on the 'very soiled' setting - just like new!!

There are more to list, but I must get back to folding.... Ahhh, the joys of laundry. At least they make it interesting for me, right?

I hope you all had a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving! I know I did!

Spirit Week

This last week was Spirit week at the kids' school. Each day had a theme... The pictures aren't great quality as I took them with my phone each morning. Whit is very routine oriented, and pictures usually aren't in his routine.... so some of the pictures are indicative of that. I was impressed that Chap stepped out of his comfort zone, and participated, too. They had a great time with it!

Monday: CRAZY HAIR DAY: "... and even the hairs on your head are all numbered." Matt 10:30 (God knows you!)

Tuesday: NERD DAY: "May god... sanctify you through and through." 1 Thess 5:23 (God sets you apart.)

Wednesday: 80's DAY: "Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past.. " Deut 32:7 (God knows your past)

Thursday: DUO DAY: "...there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother." Prov 18:24 (God desires a relationship with you).

(Tom and Jerry)

Friday: SCHOOL SPIRIT DAY: "May God... give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as followers of Christ." Rom 15:5 (God wants you to encourage others)

Maggie's Baptism

Remember, in April... I posted that Maggie had asked Jesus into her heart. Well, on Oct. 17th, she made that profession public - therefore she was baptized on Sunday, Oct. 31. She had a great three rows of family support there to watch her, and she couldn't take her eyes off of the family. She was giddy with excitement the entire morning, and truly expressed her child-like faith in her decision that day! We can only pray that her faith and her excitement stay that strong for the Lord!
