60th Wedding Anniversary

Next week, on June 15, 2011, my grandparents will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary!

They got married June 15, 1951 at a small church in Devers, Texas.  They have 2 children...

Vivienne Whittington Kirkland (spouse Robert) and Lloyd Whittington (spouse Jan).

They have 5 grandchildren (well, really nearly 10... because 4 grandchildren each have a spouse and the 5th will be getting married in October).

and, they have 6 great grandchildren.

What a devoted legacy of honor, dignity, love, service, wisdom, and pride they give each and every one of us... from their oldest child to their youngest great grandchild!!

Summer is Here!

Well, summer has arrived!  We have a busy, fun-filled summer planned, even though I will be working some of it!  The kids have a full schedule of fun activities.  Whit has begun his swimming, and is doing a nice job!  Maggie is continuing her riding lessons (although I'm hoping to move them to a different time during the summer to combat the heat... or at least help her survive the heat!).  They will all three take swimming lessons with Pearland Parks and Recreation.  Chap will begin soccer mid-June.  The boys are doing 6 weeks of KinderMusik, and Maggie will do an Art camp at end of summer.

Between all of that, we will have fun doing things like this....

and if Whit could spend every day of summer on this... he'd be in Heaven!

Ahhh, and don't forget leisurely swimming!  It is a must in this heat!  

Whatever we'll be doing... it'll be fun!  It's just hard to believe that I now have a 2nd grader and 2 Pre-K-ers!!  Where does the time go!?!
